Zachary D. Van Wagoner, MD

Dr. Zachary “Zach” Van Wagoner is a board-certified general surgeon at Intermountain Health’s Layton Parkway and Kaysville Creekside clinics. He cares for patients in Layton, Kaysville, Farmington, Syracuse, and surrounding communities, providing safe, high-quality surgical care with a patient-first approach.

Dr. Van Wagoner treats a wide range of conditions, including hernias, gallbladder disease, breast conditions, soft tissue masses and infections, and diseases of the colon and intestine, including colon cancer. He has a particular interest in minimally invasive and robotic procedures, including robotic hernia repair and colon surgery.

As a provider, he is committed to providing evidence-based surgical care with honesty, clarity, and respect, always placing patient safety at the center of every decision and focusing on achieving the best possible outcomes. He takes time to clearly explain diagnoses and treatment options so patients feel informed, confident, and empowered to actively participate in their care.

Originally from Sandy, Utah, Dr. Van Wagoner is fluent in Spanish, allowing him to connect with a broader range of patients. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and five children, as well as yard work, scuba diving, playing guitar and bass, and fixing projects around the house.
