Whitney Nelson, RD

Whitney Nelson, RDN, is a registered dietitian nutritionist at Intermountain Health’s McKay-Dee Hospital Outpatient Nutrition Services in Ogden, Utah. She supports patients in Ogden, North Ogden, and surrounding communities partnering with patients to build confidence and clarity around nutrition and health. She specializes in weight management, diabetes education, nutrition support, chronic kidney disease, and heart disease, with a strong focus on practical, sustainable strategies that fit each patient’s life.

Whitney is especially passionate about supporting individuals who are newly diagnosed with diabetes or working to better manage the condition. She understands how overwhelming a diagnosis can feel and strives to create a welcoming, judgment‑free space where patients feel heard, supported, and empowered. She enjoys working with patients to explore realistic nutritional approaches that help them take control of their health.

She also has a deep personal and professional interest in nutrition support, including enteral nutrition. Through personal experience, Whitney understands the challenges that come with managing nutrition support and is committed to helping patients and families feel confident navigating equipment, routines, and daily life.

Outside of work, Whitney enjoys staying active through weightlifting and spending time outdoors. She values quality time with her husband and family, which helps keep her grounded and energized.
