Wendy E. MacAskill, PT

Wendy MacAskill, PT, provides physical therapy services in Grand Junction and has been part of the Intermountain Health team since 2000. She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, a credential she has maintained since earning it in 1999.

She treats patients with a wide range of orthopedic conditions, with particular clinical interests in post-surgical rehabilitation—including care for patients with joint replacements—individuals participating in aquatic therapy, and women experiencing back and sacroiliac pain during and after pregnancy. Wendy values the collaborative partnership between patients and therapists and appreciates the teamwork involved in helping individuals reach their rehabilitation goals and return to the activities that are meaningful in their lives.

Wendy earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Science, with a minor in Anatomy and Neurobiology, from Colorado State University. She went on to receive her Master of Physical Therapy degree from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California, in June 1999. Shortly after completing her graduate training, she joined the team at St. Mary’s Life Center in February 2000 and has remained a dedicated member of the department ever since.

Originally from Southern California, Wendy was first introduced to Colorado while competing in intercollegiate athletics. Outside of work, she dedicates significant time to youth sports, particularly coaching high school volleyball. In her free time, she enjoys spending time at home and traveling to be with her family.
