About The Provider

Dr. Warren L. Butterfield, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic trauma surgeon with nearly two decades of experience in the surgical treatment of fractures and complex bone injuries. He specializes in fracture care, non-unions, malunions, and trauma to the pelvis and extremities. Dr. Butterfield is known for delivering high-quality, patient-focused care—treating every person with the same commitment he would offer his own family.

After earning an associate degree from Snow College and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Utah, Dr. Butterfield received his medical degree from The Ohio State University. He completed his orthopedic surgery internship and residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, followed by a fellowship in orthopedic trauma at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Dr. Butterfield came to St. George in 2014 to support the region’s growth as a Level II Trauma Center. He finds great purpose in restoring function after injury and helping patients return to the activities they love.

Originally from Pleasant Grove, Utah, he enjoys mountain biking, running, traveling, and spending time outdoors with his family.
