About The Provider
Victoria “Tori” Fister, DNP, APRN, AGACNP-BC, is an adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner who specializes in heart failure and transplant at Intermountain Heart Institute Heart Failure and Transplant Clinic in Murray, Utah. She cares for acutely ill patients with complex heart conditions, especially people with advanced heart failure who need intensive medical management or an evaluation for advanced therapies like mechanical circulatory support or a heart transplant. Tori likes the critical thinking that complex cases call for, and she values the chance to make a real difference in her patients’ outcomes. Her clinical interests include advanced heart failure, cardiac transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, cardiomyopathy, and caring for critically ill patients with complex heart conditions.
Before she became a nurse practitioner, Tori spent six years as a cardiovascular inpatient registered nurse at Intermountain Medical Center. She is committed to compassionate, patient-centered care and to building trusting relationships with her patients. She wants every patient to feel heard, comfortable asking questions, and supported through each step of their care. “Every patient has a story that extends beyond their diagnosis,” Tori says. “I believe in taking the time to listen, understand what matters most to each individual, and partner with patients and their families throughout their healthcare journey.”
Tori was born in Austin, Texas, and grew up in the Bay Area. Her family moved to Utah when she was in fifth grade because they loved the outdoors, and she’s grateful to call Utah home. Outside of work, she likes running, skiing, pilates, golf, and spending time outdoors with family and friends.
