Thomas C. Githens, DO

Originally from Basalt, Colorado, Dr. Githens is the Medical Director of Orthopedics at Rocky Mountain Orthopedic Associates. He earned his undergraduate degree from Pepperdine University and his medical degree from Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Githens completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at Texas Tech University and a fellowship in Orthopedic Trauma and Adult Reconstruction at Stanford University. Fully board certified with the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, Dr. Githens' clinic interests include treating acute and chronic injuries to the chest wall including the ribs and sternum. Understanding these injuries can be devastating, painful and debilitating, Dr. Githens utilizes various treatment modalities to help his patients achieve excellent outcomes.

Deeply rooted in the western slope of Colorado, Dr. Githens chose to join SCL Health to offer top-level trauma care to the communities that he loves and lives in. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters working on their small family farm. His hobbies include mountain biking, skiing, hunting, fishing, camping and off-roading.
