Susan N. Kawakami, PA

Suzi earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo before graduating from the University of Colorado – Anschutz Medical Campus with a Master’s of Physician Assistant Studies. Suzi’s clinical interests include general medical oncology and how to help address the diverse quality of life considerations for various solid tumor types and advances in biomolecular testing to guide treatment decisions, as well as to help monitor treatment response and post-treatment surveillance. Having had cancer touch her own family, Suzi is constantly pushing herself to learn and grow so she may provide her patients with the most up-to-date care.

“It is my goal to foster trusting provider-patient relationships that enable me to understand what is most important to my patients so that we can work toward their goals together. I am passionate about empowering my patients with the education and resources they need to understand and navigate their diagnoses - from diagnosis to survivorship, and everything in between.”

Born and raised in Colorado, Suzi comes from a close-knit family and feels fortunate to live and work near her family and friends. She loves spending time outdoors and playing volleyball in the park, as well as getting up to the mountains to go snowboarding, hiking and camping.
