About Susan Bishop

About The Provider

Susan Bishop brings 21 years of experience in the mental health field to her position with Intermountain Health, most of which involves treating the chronically mentally ill population in community-based mental health settings.

She enjoys working with elderly patients because she feels she gains a lot from listening to their life stories and validating their feelings and experiences. Growing up in Southern California, she was a fan of the TV show “Growing Pains,” which influenced her to take up a profession where she could help people.

Her professional journey began as a mental health worker in California, and she moved on to become a social worker at a hospital in California, and a mental health therapist at Pacific Clinics in California. She worked in Oregon for a time as a mental health specialist and then moved back to California to serve as lead clinical therapist and later clinical supervisor at Tri-City Mental Health Center in Pomona, where her responsibilities included ensuring the delivery of quality care.

Susan holds a BA in social work from California State University, Long Beach, and an MA in social work from California State University, Los Angeles. She is currently licensed in Nevada as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
