Spencer Christensen, PT

I received my physical therapy doctorate at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, and subsequently went on to do a clinical mentorship in hand therapy before becoming certified as a hand therapist. I also see shoulder patients readily often. 

I grew up playing volleyball and dislocated my shoulder the first game of my senior year. This required a surgery, which got me interested in physical therapy. I have always felt like a jack of all trades, but I really wanted to have a specialty for my career. I remember sitting in anatomy class in PT school, and the professor was really struggling to explain a complex physiological action of the hand. And I remember him saying, "Know what? Don't worry about this! It won't be on the test. You only have to worry about this if you become a Certified Hand Therapist." And I knew right then and there that that was what I wanted to do. I love treating upper extremity and getting people using their hands and arms more comfortably again. I have three goals for all my patients: 1. That you improve with our interventions. 2. That you learn something every time you come in. 3. That we have at least one laugh per session. You're not here for fun, so we gotta have some fun while you're here!    

I love working out at the gym, playing volleyball, and pickleball. My wife and I do a lot of hiking and backpacking, and we love nature/travelling. I love talking with and getting to know people, and my job really affords me a lot of ability to do that.
