About The Provider
Dr. Sonya Mehta grew up in both Ohio and Arkansas. She attended The Ohio State University in Columbus for her undergraduate studies and earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Dr. Mehta completed an internal medicine residency and a rheumatology fellowship with NYU Long Island Hospital in Mineola, New York. Dual board-certified in internal medicine and rheumatology, Dr. Mehta spent the first few years of her career working as a rheumatologist for a health system in Fargo, North Dakota. She is excited to join the Intermountain Health team and explore her new home city of Las Vegas.
Trilingual, Dr. Mehta is fluent in Hindi and Punjabi. If she had not found her calling in medicine, she would most likely have pursued a career as a detective or lawyer. Dr. Mehta loves finding and putting the missing pieces of the puzzle together. This skill has served her well as a medical provider.

My first visit with her was great,she was informative and caring. I still have faith in her and will continue to see her,but I would appreciate a little more time and concern regarding my issues.She is having my bloodwork done again to see if anything has changed.
