Sindhu Muppala, DO

Sindhu Muppala, DO, is a cardiac hospitalist at Intermountain Health's Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah. In her position she cares for hospitalized patients with heart conditions. She especially enjoys caring for patients with heart failure, acute coronary syndromes, and arrhythmias. She likes the challenge of complex cardiac cases and finds it just as important to help patients and their families understand what's happening and feel comfortable with the plan. Her clinical interests also include cardiovascular imaging, preventive cardiology, and caring for critically ill cardiac patients.

Dr. Muppala's approach to care is simple: "Treat the patient, not just the diagnosis." She believes good care starts with listening. She combines evidence-based medicine with compassionate, personalized care, and she makes sure her patients understand their condition and feel involved in every decision. She wants patients to know she's approachable and that no question is too small. She takes time to explain things clearly and works closely with patients and their families to make decisions together, because she believes the best cardiac care is both medically thorough and genuinely personal.

Dr. Muppala grew up in Maryland, which East Coasters call the "DMV." She has also lived in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New York City. Outside of work, she enjoys watching movies, learning new languages, and traveling with her husband.
