Shaleena Young, NP

Shaleena Young, APRN, is an acute care nurse practitioner who provides advanced care for patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical needs at Intermountain Medical Center’s Neurosurgery Spine Clinic in Murray, Utah. She supports patients in the Salt Lake Valley, specializing in caring for patients during high‑acuity situations that require careful assessment, critical thinking, and close coordination with multidisciplinary care teams.

Shaleena’s clinical interests include the management of acute neurologic injury, postoperative neurosurgical care, endovascular neurovascular interventions, and collaborative care designed to improve surgical outcomes. She is committed to delivering precise, evidence‑based care while treating every patient with clarity, compassion, and respect—especially during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.

In addition to her clinical expertise, Shaleena brings a deep personal understanding of serious neurological illness. After losing her father to glioblastoma, she gained valuable insight into the patient and family experience. This perspective shapes how she communicates, advocates, and supports patients and their loved ones as they navigate difficult diagnoses and complex care decisions.

Originally from Anchorage, Alaska, and Cody, Wyoming, Shaleena enjoys trail running, skiing, and spending time outdoors with her family and dogs when she’s not at work.
