Ryan Paul Hunsaker, PHD

Ryan Hunsaker, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist providing individual, family, and couples therapy at Intermountain Health’s Psychiatry and Counseling Clinic at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. He supports patients in Ogden, Brigham City, Hooper, cities in Box Elder County, and other surrounding communities, treating, anxiety and depression, trauma & Grief/Loss, severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI), bipolar disorder, and more.

In his work, he focuses on cognitive behavioral therapies like ACT and DBT that incorporate both building skills like mindfulness and addressing life events that may have led to unhealthy patterns that then get labeled as things like depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance abuse, addictions, psychotic disorders, and/or personality disorders. Dr. Hunsaker helps individuals to understand that their current emotions, thoughts, and behaviors can change and become unlinked from past traumas, grief/loss, or past patterns of decision-making. Dr. Hunsaker received his doctorate in clinical psychology at The University of South Dakota. He completed his internship and post-doctoral training at the Wyoming State Hospital. He has a history of treating a wide variety of different psychiatric disorders with diverse populations in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
