About Robert Rudy

About The Provider

Robert "Rob" Rudy, MD, is a neurosurgeon at Intermountain Medical Center Neurosurgery Spine Clinic in Murray, Utah. He supports patients across the Salt Lake Valley specializing in complex adult spinal deformity surgery and minimally invasive lateral access thoracolumbar procedures. He treats a wide range of conditions, including deformity, trauma, calcified thoracic disks, and degenerative spinal pathology. His clinical interests also include cervical spine pathology, minimally invasive spine surgery, intra- and extramedullary spinal tumors, thoracic disk herniations, spinal vascular malformations, and general neurosurgery.

Dr. Rudy chose neurosurgery because he wanted to help patients during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. He trained at Barrow Neurological Institute and remains committed to staying current with the latest techniques and evidence. He strives to communicate clearly and collaboratively, with the goal of every patient leaving their conversation feeling heard, informed, and confident in the path forward.

As a provider, Dr. Rudy believes exceptional brain and spine care begins with learning about each patient as an individual and builds on that with cutting-edge evidence and techniques. Every patient presents not only with a unique pathology, but with individual goals and circumstances that shape the treatment plan. His philosophy of care integrates contemporary, data-driven approaches, both surgical and non-operative, with a commitment to transparency, flexibility, and personalization for each and every patient to help them get back to achieving their goals.

Originally from Palo Alto, California, Dr. Rudy grew up with a deep love for the mountains and raced snowboards competitively at the international level. Outside of work, he enjoys riding mountain bikes and snowboards, cooking and grilling with his family, and chasing his two kids and dog around local parks.
