About Robert J. McLaughlin

About The Provider

Dr. McLaughlin is originally from New Jersey. He attended Rutgers College majoring in biochemistry. After college, with the assistance of the U.S. Air Force, he attended Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, graduating in 1989. Following medical school, he completed a one-year internship in internal medicine in Philadelphia. Dr. McLaughlin is board certifiied through the American Board of Preventive Medicine-Occupational & Environmental Medicine. He also holds his Colorado Department of Labor & Employment Level II accreditation as well as DOT NRCME Certified.

Dr. McLaughlin then completed his active duty military service at Lowry Air Force base in Aurora, Colorado. After assisting with large chemical spills and other environmental exposures, along with his experience as Chief of Aerospace Medicine, he decided to pursue Occupational and Environmental Medicine as a career.

This led to working for General Motors, fellowship training in Occupational and Environmental Medicine at the University of Michigan, and a master's degree in public health from the University of Michigan.

Not native to Colorado, but smart enough to stay here; Dr. McLaughlin has been caring for workers in Grand Junction, Colorado since 2001.

His philosophy is simple, "The best medicine will lead to the best outcomes."

When not working, he is out running, training Labrador retrievers, hiking or skiing.
