About Richard R. Bayer
About The Provider
Born in Mansfield, Ohio, Dr. Bayer earned an undergraduate degree in Molecular Genetics and one in Criminology from The Ohio State University in Columbus. He went on to attend medical school at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health. After medical school, Dr. Bayer moved to Charleston, where he completed an Internal Medicine internship and residency and a Cardiology fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. Board certified in cardiovascular diseases and Echocardiography; Dr. Bayer has advanced training in Cardiac Computed Tomography (CT). Additionally, he has been very active in research with numerous publications in the field of advanced cardiovascular imaging. His clinical interests include general clinical cardiology, preventive cardiac care and cardiovascular imaging.

When not working, Dr. Bayer participates in outdoor activities such as snowboarding, surfing, soccer, and hiking and keeps physically active by running, swimming, biking and working out. He enjoys spending time with his wife, playing with my two sons and three rescue dogs and watching Ohio State sports.

It is rare to find a Doctor currently who maintains eye contact with you while speaking and that demonstrates true empathy at times when confusion about your health situation is in abundance.
