Rebecca "Beckie" Pitts, NNP, has dedicated her career to caring for the most vulnerable patients: critically ill and premature newborns. With decades of neonatology experience, she considers it both a privilege and a calling to help babies and their families navigate the earliest, often most challenging days of life. Beckie specializes in caring for newborns with respiratory disease and is passionate about shared decision-making, ensuring families are informed, supported, and empowered as partners in their baby's care.

For Beckie, neonatology is more than a profession. It is what she feels she was born to do. She often says, "Neonatology is the best. Babies are amazing and want to be well." That belief has guided her throughout her career and continues to inspire her approach to patient care every day.

As a parent and family advocate, Beckie understands firsthand the emotions that come with a newborn's medical journey. She wants families to know she has been where they are and brings genuine empathy, compassion, and understanding to every interaction. Her goal is to provide not only expert clinical care but also comfort and reassurance during uncertain times.

In addition to her clinical service, Beckie proudly served her country in the United States Army, retiring as a Major. Throughout her military and healthcare careers, she has remained committed to excellence, leadership, and service.

Now approaching the later years of a deeply fulfilling career, Beckie remains grateful for every opportunity to care for newborns and support their families. She believes neonatology truly matters and feels honored to have spent her professional life helping babies thrive.

When she is not caring for patients, Beckie enjoys exercising, lifelong learning, and studying topics that continue to expand her knowledge and perspective.
