Peter Maughan, MD, is a board‑certified neurosurgeon with more than 20 years of experience caring for patients at Intermountain Health’s Neurosurgery Spine Clinic in Murray, Utah. He serves patients throughout the Salt Lake Valley, offering advanced expertise in the surgical and radiosurgical treatment of brain and skull base tumors, as well as complex spinal conditions related to tumors, trauma, and degenerative disease.
Dr. Maughan earned his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine and completed his neurosurgery residency at the Barrow Neurological Institute, one of the nation’s leading centers for neurological care.
Outside of his clinical practice, Dr. Maughan enjoys reading and golf and is an accomplished endurance athlete, having completed an Ironman triathlon, LOTOJA, and multiple marathons. His favorite moments are spent cheering on his daughters as they run and row.
