Peter F. Fitts, DPT

Peter Fitts, DPT, is a physical therapist at Intermountain Health's American Fork Physical Therapy in American Fork, Utah. He specializes in orthopedics, post-operative rehabilitation, spine care, chronic pain and concussion. He treats patients from late adolescence through retirement.

Before he finished his doctorate in physical therapy, Peter was a professional freestyle skier and freestyle ski coach. Knee injuries during his skiing career led to four surgeries and a lot of time working with physical therapists, and that's how his interest in rehabilitation began. Now he enjoys getting to know each patient's needs and building a personalized care plan to help them get back to the activities they enjoy, whatever those may be.

Peter grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, which is where he first fell in love with ice hockey. He moved to the Salt Lake Valley as a teenager and has lived there ever since. Away from work, he loves being outdoors, especially fly fishing on rivers in Idaho, Utah, Colorado and Wyoming. He also plays ice hockey three or more times a week.
