About The Provider
Peter Edmonds, MD, is a pulmonary and critical care physician at Intermountain Health’s LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. He supports patients in Salt Lake City, North Salt Lake, Bountiful, West Valley, and surrounding communities who have interstitial lung disease, asthma, sarcoidosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and other breathing disorders. Dr. Edmonds is especially drawn to cases where he and his team can make a real difference in someone’s daily life — helping patients breathe easier and get back to doing the things they love.
As a provider, Dr. Edmond’s philosophy of medicine is simple: listen carefully, explain clearly, and care deeply. He believes that medicine works best when patients are understood, when there’s trust between one another, and when decisions are made together. Dr. Edmonds sees medicine as a partnership. His goal is for every patient to leave an appointment feeling listened to, informed, and supported.
Dr. Edmonds is a member of the U.S. Air Forces Reserve at the rank of Major. He was born in Rochester, Minnesota and grew up in Cooperstown, New York, a small town with a baseball problem. Outside the clinic he enjoys running, training for endurance events, and spending time outdoors with his wife and their dogs.
