About Patricia C. Shang

About The Provider

I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy (NCS). I obtained my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Southern California and then completed a post-doctoral neurologic residency program to hone my expertise in treating complex neurologic and vestibular conditions. I have extensive inpatient and outpatient experience in treating people with a variety of neurologic conditions, including individuals with Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, stroke, traumatic brain injury, concussion, vestibular disorders, functional neurological disorders (FND), and a variety of balance conditions.

I am certified in specialty exercise programs designed for people with Parkinson’s, including PWR!Moves® (Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery) and LSVT BIG. I have also completed my Vestibular Competency through Duke University and specialized courses on functional neurological disorders.

I am passionate about serving my community. I actively participate in events hosted by the Parkinson’s Foundation, including previous Moving Day events and being a guest speaker. I most recently presented at the “Learn More, Live Better: Mood & Thinking Symptoms” event and was on the SLC Moving Day committee for 2023, assisting in bringing the first Moving event to Utah. Additionally, I have facilitated workshops aimed at fall prevention and wellness in older adults.

I currently work at TOSH Neuro outpatient Rehab and Dizziness and Balance Rehab at TOSH, where I apply my expertise to support my patients and dedicate myself to enhancing their quality of life. I currently serve on the Neuro Practice Council, which operates as the caregivers’ voice for advancing neuro care, and will be an interventionist in the Parkinson’s Elevated program. I am passionate about helping my patients achieve their goals and live their healthiest and best lives possible.

I grew up here in Utah. I moved away for school and work and recently moved back with my growing family! We had twins about a year ago and are busy with our 4 kiddos! I love spending time with my husband and kids, including anything outdoors. I love to snowboard, hike, go camping, run, and kayak. I also enjoy cooking and playing board or card games.
