About The Provider
Dr. Noah Quinlan is a fellowship-trained Shoulder and Elbow orthopedic surgeon at Intermountain Health's McKay-Dee Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Clinic in Ogden. He cares for patients in Ogden, Layton, Roy, Clearfield, and surrounding communities. His practice focuses primarily on the diagnosis and treatment of shoulder conditions, including shoulder arthritis and replacement, rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability, and sports-related injuries. He also treats a range of elbow and orthopedic trauma conditions.
Dr. Quinlan's interest in orthopedic surgery began after he suffered a sports related knee injury in high school that required surgery. Experiencing an orthopedic injury and recovery firsthand gave him an appreciation for how an injury can affect a person's ability to participate in the activities they enjoy. That experience continues to shape the way he cares for patients today.
Dr. Quinlan completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Utah and fellowship training in Shoulder and Elbow surgery at the University of Washington. He also completed an orthopedic research year at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston and has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications and multiple book chapters, including research focused on rotator cuff disease and shoulder replacement.
Dr. Quinlan believes that good orthopedic care starts with understanding each patient's goals and finding the right treatment for that individual. He takes time to listen, explain the diagnosis and treatment options clearly, and help patients understand when surgery may—or may not—be the best choice. His goal is to provide thoughtful, evidence-based care while helping patients return to the activities that are important to them.
Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Quinlan enjoys spending time outside of work with his wife and their goldendoodle, Luna. He enjoys skiing, cycling, swimming, running, and golfing.

I feel that having Dr. Quinlan is a plus, because he is a younger doctor with all of the new medicine aspects on orthopedic surgery. He seems to know my problems with my shoulders and the arthritis and has given me alternatives that we will answer in the next month.

Dr Quinlan listened to my questions. Answered each. I'm happy to know surgery isn't needed. I told him I exercise at BLHS pool at least three days a week and the exercises I do. He agreed I could continue and add my diving board pullups. He gave me exercise information and a rubber band.

I had a set of expectations from the visit, time spent with me, explanations, exam of the issue not just a look at the MRI... and Dr Quinlan hit it out of the park making me feel seen and heard and explaining the risk and benefits of the future surgery that is needed
