Mulugeta Kassahun, MD, is a board-certified urologist serving patients in Las Vegas. With extensive experience in robotic, laparoscopic, open, and endoscopic urologic surgery, he provides comprehensive care for a wide range of urologic conditions, blending advanced surgical expertise with a patient-centered approach.

Specializing in general urology and female pelvic medicine, Dr. Kassahun believes that choosing a surgeon is a deeply personal and important decision. Dr. Kassahun's clinical interests include urologic oncology and the treatment of kidney, renal pelvis, ureteral, bladder, and prostate cancers. He also has extensive experience managing benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), urinary tract stones, hydronephrosis, ureteropelvic junction (UPJ) obstruction, ureteral and urethral strictures, and complex urologic anatomical abnormalities. He uses advanced robotic and minimally invasive techniques whenever appropriate to help patients achieve optimal outcomes with shorter recovery times.

Particularly passionate about complex robotic and laparoscopic urologic procedures, Dr. Kassahun enjoys cases that demand meticulous surgical planning, technical precision, and innovative problem-solving. Originally from Ethiopia, Dr. Kassahun came to the United States as a refugee and has built a distinguished career dedicated to service. He is also a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve and proudly served two tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Beyond medicine, Dr. Kassahun enjoys jogging, reading, geography and political science.
