Monica Ramos, MD

Monica Ramos, MD, is a board-certified neonatologist with Grand Junction Neonatology, dedicated to delivering compassionate, comprehensive care for newborns and their families. She brings a thoughtful, team-oriented approach to neonatal medicine, recognizing that collaboration is vital to achieving the best possible outcomes for her patients.

Dr. Ramos’s clinical interests include the Neonatal Resuscitation Program, palliative care, and nutritional strategies to support optimal neonatal growth and development. She is particularly drawn to the complexities of caring for late-preterm infants, a population known for its unpredictability. Whether managing a stable newborn or responding to severe respiratory distress, she finds fulfillment in navigating each patient’s unique challenges and tailoring care accordingly.

Her approach to care is rooted in empathy, communication, and partnership. Families in the NICU can expect a holistic, patient-centered experience in which their values and concerns are heard and integrated into care decisions. Dr. Ramos is committed to building trusting relationships with families and working closely with the entire care team—believing that exceptional neonatal care is a collective effort.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Ramos enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking and exploring with her three sons and their dogs. She has a deep appreciation for learning about diverse religions and belief systems. While she identifies as Catholic, she values understanding different religions. She has previously participated in missionary work in Africa and hopes to continue contributing to global health efforts.
