Michelle M. Griffen, RD

Michelle Griffen, RD, is a registered dietitian at Intermountain Health's Utah Valley Clinic - Diabetes and Endocrinology in Provo, Utah. She supports patients in Utah County, bringing both clinical expertise and personal experience to her work with patients living with diabetes. As a provider, Michelle believe diabetes care should be individualized, practical, and empowering. She does this by partnering with patients to develop realistic nutrition and lifestyle strategies that fit their daily lives. By combining evidence-based nutrition therapy with compassionate counseling, she helps individuals build confidence in managing diabetes, improving health outcomes, and enhancing quality of life.

Michelle especially enjoys working with patients navigating Gestational Diabetes Mellitus and Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus, where she can draw on her own journey to help others feel empowered rather than overwhelmed. She is passionate about showing patients that living with diabetes doesn't have to be stressful or limiting, and she loves helping them realize their full potential through education and support.

Diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 8 and now a mother of two young boys, Michelle understands firsthand that managing a chronic condition is about much more than numbers and lab results—it's about building a fulfilling, healthy life. Because of her experience, she offers empathetic, realistic guidance that meets patients where they are in their day-to-day lives. She wants every patient to feel supported, heard, and never alone in their care.

Originally from North Mankato, Minnesota, Michelle now calls Utah home with her husband, two young boys, and their big German Shepherd. She loves staying active—whether that's taking her boys to the zoo or local museums or spending time outdoors as a family. In her downtime, she enjoys working on cross-stitch projects and trying out new recipes at home.
