Michael Shay Nielson, OT

I am Michael "Shay" Nielson, an occupational therapist specializing in orthopedics and neurological rehabilitation, with a focus on hand therapy at Intermountain Health's Southern Utah Physical Therapy. I support patients in Cedar City and surrounding communities, helping them regain function in their upper limbs after an injury or medical procedure.

I am passionate about improving health and wellness and working with others to develop personalized care plans that help them return to their desired activity levels.

I have been an occupational therapist since 2019. With a background in physical rehabilitation dating back to 2013, I gained experience in physical therapy before pursuing and earning my master's degree in occupational therapy in Massachusetts.

Outside the clinic, I enjoy being active outdoors, hiking, mountain biking, camping, and making memories with my wife and our four fun-loving daughters.
