About The Provider
Michael Nilsen, PT, DPT, is a physical therapist who specializes in the treatment of orthopedic conditions. He works with Intermountain Health's Connect Care, working with patients virtually, helping them recover from injury, reduce pain, and return to the activities they enjoy most.
Michael's passion for physical therapy began after experiencing several running injuries while competing in track and cross country during high school. Going through rehabilitation himself gave him a firsthand understanding of the challenges and frustrations that can come with recovery. This experience helps him connect with patients and provide compassionate, individualized care. He works closely with each patient to develop a treatment plan centered around their personal goals and long-term success.
Michael earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland before completing his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and residency training at Drexel University in Philadelphia. After finishing his training, he was drawn to Utah for its easy access to outdoor recreation and active lifestyle.
Outside of work, Michael enjoys skiing, biking, and trail running with his wife, Kerry, and their dog, Neo.
