Michael Durbano, DPT

Mike Durbano, DPT, is a physical therapist at Intermountain Health's Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation - Rose Canyon Clinic in Riverton, Utah, specializing in orthopedics. He is passionate about helping people move better and live fuller lives. Mike is drawn to the investigative work that comes with outpatient orthopedics, and he finds it deeply rewarding to watch patients improve their function through movement and transform their quality of life. He sees each person's recovery as a collaborative journey and considers it an honor to be part of that process.

Mike treats a wide range of orthopedic conditions, with clinical interests that include hip, knee, and ankle pathology; spine and disc pathology; gait analysis; exercise prescription; and strength and conditioning principles. He commonly helps patients with shoulder, knee, foot and ankle, neck, and back concerns.

As a provider, Mike's philosophy of care is centered on treating people rather than problems—seeing the whole person, not just the "hole" in the person. He believes each individual deserves the right to be heard and cared for with compassion, dignity, and respect. Because we live our life through movement, he understands that when a person's ability to move is impacted, their quality of life is impacted too. Mike takes interest in each person's individual interests, lifestyle, values, and priorities to create a tailored approach to care, and he values educating and empowering his patients so they understand their condition and how to promote their own health beyond the clinic. He is, and always will be, a lifelong student of the physical therapy profession, committed to continuous learning and growth throughout his career.

Mike wants patients to know they can come as they are. He sees himself as a human being striving his best to serve another human being, and he believes the best care happens when patients feel they can communicate with him without fear of judgment.

A native of Ogden, Utah, he loves being outside and in the mountains, gaming, learning to play the guitar, and spending time with family and friends.
