Micaela Joy Besser, NP

Micaela Besser is a nurse practitioner specializing in women’s health at Intermountain Health’s Southridge Clinic – OB/GYN in Riverton, Utah. She supports patients in Riverton, Bluffdale, Draper, Herriman, and surrounding communities, providing comprehensive gynecologic care, contraceptive counseling, prenatal and postpartum support, midlife and menopausal health, hormone therapy, gynecologic oncology survivorship, and sexual health. Micaela works closely with the OB/GYN team to help ensure patients have timely, consistent care.She believes in providing compassionate, evidence-based care that meets patients where they are. Her goal is to listen without judgment, educate with empathy, and ensure every patient feels supported and respected in their healthcare decisions.

Micaela is passionate about whole-person care and has advanced training in midlife and menopausal health, which she brings into every patient interaction — whether talking about periods, pregnancy or beyond. She finds great meaning in creating a supportive space where patients feel informed and at ease. While her primary role is to support the OB/GYN team’s clinical schedule, she’s especially enthusiastic about helping midlife women navigate the physical and emotional changes that can come with menopause.

Micaela grew up in the Midwest and has since lived in several states, including South Dakota and Maryland, before settling in Utah. Outside the clinic she enjoys spending time with her partner and their pup Noodles. They’re usually out enjoying the mountains, jogging, or just soaking up the sunshine.
