About Merin M. Kinikini

About The Provider

Merin Kinikini has degrees in Medical Dietetics, Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, and a Doctorate Degree in nursing. She also has certification in Nutrition Support, Functional Medicine and bio-identical hormones. She was previously certified as a Diabetes Educator.

Merin's current role at Intermountain Medical Center is as a Nurse Practitioner in the Nutrition Support Clinic. She supports patients on home enteral and parenteral nutrition. The clinic also includes registered dietitians who help Merin support these patients and their nutrition support needs.  As part of her care in the clinic, she does routine abdominal tube exchanges. Merin does not see functional medicine patients currently.

She has had numerous publications, many of them through ASPEN in the area of Enteroatmospheric Fistulas and The Hostile Abdomen, and Vitamin D in Trauma. Her most recent publications include guidelines for the replacement of abdominal feeding tubes and updating the ASPEN Core Curriculum on Enteral Access Devices.

In her spare time, Merin loves the outdoors, physical activity, any kind of learning and spending time with her husband Rick, their two giant Bernadoodles, and their
