About The Provider
Melissa McLane, MS, CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist at Intermountain Health's Primary Children's Rehab in Salt Lake City, Utah, specializing in pediatric feeding. Her clinical interests include cardiac, pediatric feeding, and pediatric development. Melissa especially enjoys cases where the medical team and parents work together to find the best solution for the patient and family, even when it isn't the typical one. She sees these moments as a chance to apply what she knows in new ways and keep the patient's outcome at the center. Opening up the discussion to creative thinking often leads to new approaches that can help other families as well.
Melissa always strives to listen and to find interventions that support both the child and the caregivers. Her philosophy of care is guided by the quote, "The human body experiences a powerful gravitational pull in the direction of hope."
She earned an Associate of Science in Communication from Salt Lake Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Science from the University of Utah, followed by a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology, also from the University of Utah. She is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Her clinical interests include cardiac care, pediatric feeding, and pediatric development.
Melissa was born and raised in Salt Lake City and has also lived in the Seattle, San Diego, and Cedar Rapids areas. Outside of work, she is a busy mom of eight who enjoys baking, walking her dog, road trips with her family, and traveling with her husband. She also loves reading, swing dancing, live music, baseball, and entertaining friends and family.
