About Melissa McDonald

About The Provider

Dr. Melissa McDonald is a neuro-hospitalist at St George Regional Hospital. Before she donned her white coat, Dr. McDonald majored in Modern Dance at the University of Utah and danced professionally for a time. Her desire to go into medicine came after reading Oliver Sacks's books, which opened her eyes to the intricate beauty of the human brain.

She attended the University of Michigan, earning her medical degree and completing a Neurology Residency. After her residency, Dr. McDonald took her expertise to McKay Dee Hospital, where she became the Stroke Medical Director for both McKay Dee and St. George Regional Hospitals.

Outside of her medical practice, the St. George native enjoys nurturing her creative spirit through sketching, reading short stories, playing the piano, and indulging in her love for music.
