Melissa A. Baugh, RD

Melissa Baugh, RD, is a registered dietitian at Intermountain Health's Sanpete Valley Hospital in Pleasant, Utah. She supports patients in central Utah, passionate about helping individuals and families navigate the often-confusing world of nutrition. She especially enjoys working with people who feel overwhelmed by conflicting nutrition information and helping them make sense of the details to create a realistic, personalized plan that supports their health and goals.

Melissa believes that food should be enjoyed, not feared. Her approach focuses on sustainable lifestyle behaviors that promote overall health and well-being, regardless of a person's weight. She works collaboratively with patients to develop practical strategies that fit their unique needs, empowering them to build a positive relationship with food and make lasting changes.

Her clinical interests include behavioral health and palliative care. Melissa provides care for a variety of nutrition-related conditions, including diabetes, weight management, eating disorders, kidney disease, and heart disease. She uses evidence-based approaches such as nutrition counseling, medical nutrition therapy, nutrition-focused physical exams, and motivational interviewing to help patients achieve meaningful and lasting health outcomes.

Melissa wants patients to know that she is excited to help them move toward a better life with food. She strives to create a welcoming and supportive environment where patients feel heard, understood, and confident in their ability to make informed nutrition choices.

Originally from New Jersey and now living in Provo, Utah, Melissa enjoys spending her free time working on puzzles, cross-stitching, reading, and caring for her Little Free Library.
