McKenna Clawson, NP

McKenna Clawson, is a certified nurse practitioner specializing in pediatric general surgery and trauma at Intermountain Heath’s Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT. She supports pediatric patients and their families in Salt Lake City, North Salt Lake, Bountiful, and surrounding communities with clinical interests are general pediatric medicine, general surgery, and trauma more.

As an NP in general surgery and trauma, she understands having a child with a complex medical condition can be frightening and confusing even when your provider is speaking the same language. She is very passionate about ensuring that all families who speak different languages have ample time and opportunity to understand their child's condition in their native language.

McKenna lived in Chile for 18 months and is passionate about caring for patients and families of all diverse backgrounds. She loves taking care of kids and families, working closely with them, and empowering them to take the best care of their kids as possible. She never wants a parent to feel like they cannot ask her more questions because she sees it as a privilege to care for their kids and help parents feel as educated and empowered as possible.

Outside the clinic, the Southern California native enjoys playing tennis, pickleball, waterskiing, and hiking with her bernedoodle, Blue. She is the fifth of six kids and is the proud aunt of 12 nieces and nephews.
