About Matthew White

About The Provider

Matt White, MD, is a short-term psychiatrist for Intermountain Health's Mental Health Integration (MHI) program at North Ogden Clinic, South Ogden Clinic, McKay-Dee Internal Medicine, and Roy Clinic. In this position he works within the medical setting to provide mental health services alongside your established primary care physician or specialist.

MHI treatment is a short-term program designed to help manage mental health symptoms that affect quality of life and typically includes 3–6 visits. Patients must be referred by a primary care provider at one of the clinics where Dr. White practices. Your care team works together throughout treatment to support your needs. If additional or long-term care is needed, we can help coordinate a referral. Patients who need longer-term behavioral health care or do not have a qualifying primary care provider should talk with their PCP or contact Intermountain Health’s Behavioral Health Navigation Service at 833-442-2211.

Dr. White finds fulfillment in working with patients navigating complex, multifaceted challenges where mental and physical health intersect. Because no mental health condition exists in isolation, he especially values working as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team—and there is nothing more rewarding to him than seeing a patient make meaningful, lasting progress when a care team communicates effectively and wraps support around the whole person.

Dr. White believes psychiatric care is a collaborative partnership built on mutual trust, active listening, and treating the whole person—mind, body, and lifestyle. As he puts it, "True mental wellness is more than just the absence of distress; it is the cultivation of a balanced, fulfilling life. I am dedicated to empowering my patients with the tools, insights, and evidence-based treatments they need to be the primary architect of their healing."

When working with Dr. White, patients can expect a comprehensive approach that looks at the whole picture, along with thorough communication that ensures they always understand the "why" behind their treatment plan. While he takes clinical care very seriously, he is personable and intentional about bringing warmth and a sense of humor into each session, so that the space feels comfortable, grounded, and human. His clinical interests include integrative psychiatry, mood disorders, addiction and substance use disorders, and neuromodulation (TMS, Esketamine).

Originally from Holladay, Utah, Dr. White enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children outside of work. In his free time, he likes golfing, snowboarding, playing bass guitar, and indulging his passion as a home theater enthusiast.
