About

About The Provider

Matt Christensen, MD is a Physician Informaticist and an Assistant Professor of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Intermountain Health. His clinical interests include adult critical care,
sepsis and septic shock, acute respiratory distress syndrome, and use of corticosteroids in critical illness.
Dr. Christensen’s research focuses on using informatics to improve care and medical decision-making for critically ill adults. His work integrated user-centered design, implementation science, embedded pragmatic clinical trials, and emerging machine learning and artificial intelligence methods to advance evidence-based precision critical care. He has a particular interest in applying these methods to deliver individualized treatment recommendations, which integrate data from an individual patient and evidence from randomized trials, for patients with sepsis and acute respiratory distress syndrome.
Dr. Christensen is from Wheaton, IL. Outside of work, he enjoys exploring all the outdoors in Utah has to offer with his wife and two young boys. Their favorite park to visit is Grant Teton National Park, including a lesser-known cross-country skiing trail from Taggart Lake Trailhead to Jenny Lake
