Maranda Nelson, NP, is a Neurohospitalist APP at Intermountain Healthcare's Southern Utah Neurosciences Institute. There, she provides expert care for patients with neurological conditions in St. George and nearby communities. She consults, assesses, and manages patients with various neurological conditions in the hospital.
Maranda began her medical career as a CNA in 2010, then later became an RN in the ICU here at St. George Regional, working with Neurocritical Care patients as well as general ICU patients. She continued her education to achieve her Master's in Science of Nursing to become a Nurse practitioner through South University in October 2020 and began working with inpatient neurology in 2021, as well as seeing patients in the Stroke Clinic.
Maranda is originally from Price, UT, but she has lived in St. George since she was a child. She has been married since 2012 and rescues older and disabled dogs with her husband. She enjoys reading, crafts, art, and traveling with friends. Ultimately, spending time with her husband and her dogs is the highlight of her time off work.
