About The Provider
Lynn Gaufin, MD is a neurosurgeon at Intermountain Health’s Utah Valley Neurosurgery and Spine Clinic in Provo, Utah. He supports patients throughout Utah County, seeing patients for surgical and nonsurgical brain and spine consultations, treating neurological conditions including tumors, cysts, aneurysms, subdural hematoma/hemorrhage, disc herniations, and more. He gives nonsurgical treatment recommendations if the patients are not ready for surgery. He orders the pre-surgical workup tests to be done and if surgery is needed, he then helps it get scheduled with one of his partners. He loves skiing, spending time with his grandkids, and his favorite place to travel to is Hawaii.
Dr. Gaufin has been practicing as a neurosurgeon since 1975. He also served as a general surgeon in the United States Army in Thailand during the Vietnam conflict. Following completion of his residency at UCLA, he taught as a neurosurgery instructor at UCLA for a year before relocating to Utah. Once in Utah, he was able to establish a neurosurgery program with his partners here at Utah Valley. In March 2023, Dr. Gaufin switched from surgery to seeing neurosurgical patients in clinic for surgical and nonsurgical consultations. He gives nonsurgical treatment recommendations if the patients are not ready for surgery.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Gaufin loves skiing, spending time with his grandkids, and his favorite place to travel to is Hawaii.

He's a nice man, very pleasant appearance and affect. He gives detailed information about your case, even if he does stumble occasionally getting ahead of himself. It is easy to see that he is very intelligent and has a thorough understanding of his specialty.
