About The Provider
Luke Myhre, MD, comes to his love of medicine naturally as the son of two family medicine physicians who also ran numerous public health-focused projects. Dr. Myhre grew up in a village in western Uganda at the foot of the Rwenzori Mountain range in the Congo River basin. As a teen, he studied in Kenya before attending Yale University for his undergraduate degree. He decided to pursue medical school as he saw medicine and surgery as a tangible application of science that could affect others. He earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia Medical School. Dr. Myhre completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Utah and an orthopedic trauma fellowship at the University of Maryland. Passionate about service, Dr. Myhre plans to volunteer his skills with international orthopedic opportunities.
“I believe that all people who experience trauma, regardless of background or circumstance, deserve excellent world-class care. The beauty of orthopedics is that broken bodies can be made whole.”
Dr. Myhre loves mountain biking, backcountry touring, and anything in the mountains with his wife and dog.

Dr. Myhre impressed me right away with his competence and compassion to me as an individual. I was clear from the beginning that I did not want to have surgery, unless absolutely necessary - he heard that and went in that direction (no surgery) with my treatment. He seems to genuinely care about his patients as people.

Doc listened to me and answered my questions. I didn’t get a lot of guidance about how I should be handling my recovery but perhaps that will come at my follow up appointment. We did cover a lot of ground and he was very patient and easy to talk to.
