About The Provider
Lauren Adams, PHD, is a psychologist at Layton Parkway Clinic – Women’s Health and Wasatch OB/GYN – Layton with Intermountain Health's Mental Health Integration (MHI) program. In this position, she works within the medical setting to provide mental health therapy and consultation alongside your established primary care provider or specialist.
MHI treatment is a short-term program designed to help manage mental health symptoms that affect quality of life and typically includes 3–6 visits. Patients must be referred to by a primary care provider at one of the clinics where Dr. Adams practices. Your care team works together throughout treatment to support your needs. If additional or long-term care is needed, we can help coordinate a referral. Patients who need longer-term behavioral health care or do not have a qualifying primary care provider should talk with their PCP or contact Intermountain Health’s Behavioral Health Navigation Service at 833-442-2211.
Dr. Adams provides evidence‑based individual therapy, with specialized training in Cognitive Processing Therapy and Prolonged Exposure for PTSD. She primarily uses empirically supported approaches, including CBT and DBT, to treat anxiety, mood, personality, and substance use disorders. Her work is well suited for patients who benefit from structured, collaborative care that supports autonomy and engagement in treatment.
