Kristin Mabel Elizabeth Powell-Sellers, MD

Dr. Kristin Powell is a board-certified Ob/Gyn Hospitalist and the Residency Program Director for Obstetrics and Gynecology at Saint Joseph Hospital. She specializes in caring for patients during acute and complex events, including difficult pregnancies, labors, surgeries, and urgent gynecologic issues. 

Dr. Powell's care philosophy is centered on patient education and empowerment. She believes in creating a partnership built on trust and clear communication, working with patients to navigate critical moments together. Quality and patient safety are the driving factors in her clinical practice. 

Her passion for teaching is what led her to a career in academic medicine. After receiving her medical degree and residency training from the University of South Florida, she served on the faculty at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. Prior to joining Saint Joseph Hospital, she was a faculty member at the University of Colorado and Denver Health, where she was the founding Director of the Ob/Gyn Hospitalist fellowship. She is also an oral board examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. 

As Program Director, Dr. Powell is passionate about mentoring the next generation of physicians. She believes that investing in education is a core component of improving quality and patient safety for the entire community.
