Kayla Thompson, PA

Kayla Thompson, PA, specializes in pediatric trauma surgery at Intermountain Health’s Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. She supports pediatric patients and their families who have already been admitted to the hospital who need surgical and emergency or critical care after an incident and sees patients for follow ups. Kayla feels honored to be helping children and their families during difficult medical circumstances.

Kayla strives to use her knowledge and empathy to keep children first and always. She is a compassionate provider who prioritizes communication, active listening, and self-awareness to improve your experience while at Primary Children's Hospital. Kayla has a strong background in biochemical research and completed her Doctor of Medical Science in December 2025.

Outside the clinic the Ogden, Utah native enjoys open water swimming, watching baseball, and reading. Kayla especially enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephews, and border collie named Niko.
