Katya Wentzel, MD

Katya Wentzel, MD, is a gynecologist specializing in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery at Intermountain Health's Alta View Women's Specialists in Sandy, Utah. She strives to builds trusting partnerships with her patients, and takes time to understand each person as an individual, offering clear education about diagnoses and treatment options so patients can make informed decisions that reflect their own priorities, values, and goals. Above all, she treats every patient with the same respect, honesty, and compassion she would want for her own family.

Her clinical interests include uterine fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic masses, endometriosis, and chronic pelvic pain — conditions that can significantly affect daily life. Dr. Wentzel finds it especially meaningful to offer individualized care that relieves symptoms and restores function. She completed a two-year fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and complex benign gynecology, and has expertise in laparoscopic, robotic, hysteroscopic, and fertility-sparing approaches to complex gynecologic conditions.

Originally from Virginia, Dr. Wentzel enjoys hiking, skiing, traveling, and spending time with her family.
