About Karina Olson, OT

About The Provider

Karina Olson, OT, is a compassionate occupational therapist at Intermountain Health St. James Hospital, with a strong passion for neurological rehabilitation. Her clinical interests include neurological impairments, spinal cord injuries, and neurodevelopmental delays. She is especially fascinated by the powerful connection between the brain and body and the remarkable healing that can occur with the right guidance and support.

Karina’s philosophy of care centers on the belief that meaningful, functional activities are essential to recovery. She helps patients reconnect with the tasks and roles that matter most to them, using purposeful movement as a pathway to healing and independence. She is deeply committed to working not only with her patients but also with their families and support systems, recognizing that collaboration is key to improving long-term quality of life.

Karina strives to empower patients and their loved ones by providing practical strategies that can be applied in everyday life at home. She fosters an engaging, goal-driven therapy environment, often reminding patients: “We are going to work hard, have fun, and focus on what means most to you.”

Outside of her professional life, Karina enjoys staying active and spending time with her husband and their cattle dog. She loves running, traveling, kayaking, and making the most of the outdoors, as well as staying connected with family and friends.
