Karen K. Shuman, NP

Originally from Palisade, Colorado, Kate stayed in the Grand Valley for her undergraduate studies. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction. Kate moved to the District of Columbia where she graduated from Georgetown University with a Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in Adult Gerontology Acute Care. Prior to her time in Washington DC, Kate worked as a cardiovascular intensive care unit nurse at St. Mary’s Medical Center for four and a half years. Kate’s medical interests include vascular surgery and caring for acute and critically ill patients.

Kate and her husband recently moved back to Palisade where her family still lives. She loves being able to see them each week. When not working, she can be found on the golf course!
