Kandice Nielson, MD, is an OB/GYN Hospitalist at Intermountain Health’s LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. In her OB Hospitalist role, she focuses on obstetrical care only. She is interested in helping women feel safe and empowered during childbirth and in providing evidence based obstetrical medicine. Kandice enjoys is the ability to care for women throughout their lives (from adolescence to menopause). However, her first true love is obstetrics. She loves delivering babies and being a part of such magical events!
As a provider, Kandice believes in treating patients like family. She wants them to feel safe, empowered, and to have a voice in their partnership. She considers the patient-doctor relationship a partnership, with both her and patient working together to achieve her patient’s health goals.
Outside the clinic, the Utah native enjoys spending time with her family, reading, gardening, and hanging out with my senior pup, Chewbacca. She also is a super fan of the Star Wars films.

Working with Dr. Kandice Nielson during my first pregnancy was truly a great experience. From the very beginning, I felt like I was in capable and caring hands. Dr. Nielson was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also genuinely kind and approachable. She took the time to explain every step of the process, ensuring that I understood what was happening and why. She addressed my concerns about labor and delivery, she was always there with thoughtful and reassuring advice…. WE NEED MORE DOCTORS LIKE HER.

Dr. Nielson listens to my concerns and gives me all the options to then let me decide what I’d like to do. She answers questions fully and I never feel rushed. She’s an amazing doctor!
