Kaitlin McLeod, MD

Kaitlin "Katie" McLeod, MD, is a family medicine physician at Intermountain Health's West Valley Clinic in West Valley City, Utah. Her philosophy of care centers on building trusting relationships through open communication, collaboration, and evidence-based medicine. She believes the best care comes from listening carefully to her patients, understanding their goals and concerns, and involving them in shared decision-making.

She especially enjoys caring for patients experiencing new or unexplained symptoms. These cases allow her to work through possible causes alongside the patient, discuss potential diagnoses, and build a thoughtful plan for evaluation. Dr. McLeod takes the time to explain what concerns her, why certain tests or imaging may be needed, and how each step helps rule out serious conditions or identify the underlying cause — so patients feel informed, involved, and confident in the decisions they make together.

Her clinical interests include comprehensive care for patients of all ages, from newborns and children to adolescents, adults, and older adults. She enjoys caring for the whole family and building lasting relationships through every stage of life, and she has a special interest in women's health and performing outpatient procedures in the clinic.

Dr. McLeod is committed to long-term partnerships with her patients, whether that means preventive care, managing chronic conditions, or addressing new health concerns. She strives to create space for patients to share their questions, concerns, and goals, and she is dedicated to lifelong learning so her care reflects the latest medical research and clinical guidelines.

Originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, Dr. McLeod moved to Salt Lake City in 2023 for residency. Outside of work, she spends as much time outdoors as possible with her family — hiking, skiing, camping, paddleboarding, and swimming — and enjoys traveling and exploring new places.
