Julianne Steiner is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist at Intermountain Health's McKay-Dee Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic in Ogden, Utah. She supports patients in Ogden, North Ogden, South Weber, and surrounding communities providing nutrition counseling and diabetes education for type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, LADA, gestational diabetes, obesity, high cholesterol, and hypoglycemia.
Julianne's special interests include insulin pump therapy, continuous glucose monitoring, nutrition management strategies, and diabetes research. She is a certified insulin pump trainer for Medtronic, Tandem, Omnipod, and Beta Bionics, and serves as Quality Coordinator for an American Diabetes Association–recognized Diabetes Education Program. In 2011, she was named Utah Diabetes Educator of the Year.
She is a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, with more than 30 years of experience helping individuals manage diabetes. Living with type 1 diabetes herself, Julianne brings a deeply personal understanding to her work and is passionate about empowering patients to manage their condition well and reduce their risk of complications.
A native of Ogden, Utah, Julianne graduated Magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food Sciences from Utah State University in 1989. She went on to research education strategies to improve the health and quality of life of individuals with kidney disease, earning her Master of Science in Nutrition and Food Sciences from Utah State University in 1992.
Outside of her practice, Julianne enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons. Her hobbies include gardening, camping, cooking, traveling, and reading.
