Joshua M. Mitchell, MD

Joshua Mitchell, MD is an adult psychiatrist working with patient’s at Intermountain Health’s Park City Psychiatry and Counseling in Park City, Utah. He supports patients in Park City, Heber City, Kamas, Snyderville, and surrounding communities, specializing in treatment and management of ADHD, anxiety, PTSD, and psychotic disorders. His other clinical interests include electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), mindfulness therapy, existential therapy, and the importance of diet and exercise in maintaining mental well-being and in the treatment of mental illnesses.

Dr. Mitchell earned his medical degree from Ohio State University in 2013 while completing a Master’s in Public Health, largely due to his interest in global mental health. During residency at the University of Utah, he pursued further learning in global mental health and developed specific interests in the management of treatment-resistant depression, bipolar disorder, and substance use.

Dr. Mitchell served as chief resident during his final year of training at the University of Utah in 2016-2017 prior to transitioning to his outpatient adult psychiatry practice with Intermountain Union Park Psychiatry and Counseling.

Dr. Mitchell is from the upper Peninsula of Michigan where he developed a passion for the outdoors at a young age. Athletics provided a great platform for him to develop an appreciation for friendships and connecting with others. He continued his athletic pursuits as a collegiate swimmer during his undergraduate studies.
