Josh McDonald, PharmD

Josh McDonald is a clinical pharmacist who specializes in primary care. He works with patients to manage chronic conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure, with a focus on improving outcomes and making care more accessible and understandable.

Josh earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Iowa and completed residency training with the University of Utah and Intermountain Health, including advanced training in ambulatory care. He is board certified in ambulatory care pharmacy (BCACP).

Josh takes a personalized approach to care. He believes every patient is different and deserves a care plan tailored to their unique needs, goals, and lifestyle. He works closely with patients to help them better understand their conditions and feel confident managing their health.

As part of his care, Josh provides comprehensive medication therapy management. He reviews all medications, not just those related to a specific condition, to ensure they are safe, effective, and aligned with each patient’s goals. He also considers medication access and affordability as part of every treatment plan.

Outside of work, Josh enjoys outdoor photography, following Iowa sports, and spending time with family and friends.
